This rug is full of life, reflecting the lively character of its weaver. You can see the weaver’s personality shine through with the rug’s bright colours and its children’s drawing-like small patterns. It was made in a high-lying village in the Atlas, where weaving is not only a craft hobby and source of living, but also a defining connecting factor in community life. Despite the challenges and sometimes difficult life circumstances that those living in these remote areas face, the weavers love and value life very much and this comes through in their handywork.
The rug is made of cream-coloured wool yarn, colourfully dyed wool yarns and cotton warp.
** All our rugs are carefully hand-knotted. Each piece is completely unique, bearing the individual self-expression of the weaver woman as well as the weaving traditions of the tribes of the Atlas Mountains. We handpick each and every piece of our collection. Please note that Berber rugs are handcrafted products so you may spot minor imperfections. We think this only adds to their character and charm.
