This piece is made of wool with fringes on one end. The rich artistic heritage of the Amazigh communities is combined delicately on this fabulous hand-knotted piece. The turquoise motif in the centre of the rug recalls the image of a tall, long neck ceramic vase. The fore- and background nicely separates from each another in the composition. The amphora takes lead as it is framed by the cloudy, ombre rose-colour background.
The talented weaver has chosen the colours with astonishing sense – who would have thought that the turquoise goes so well with the yellow-orange-rose colour scheme. We could admire this heavenly still life in our living room for days on end.
** All our rugs are carefully hand-knotted. Each piece is completely unique, bearing the individual self-expression of the weaver woman as well as the weaving traditions of the tribes of the Atlas Mountains. We handpick each and every piece of our collection. Please note that Berber rugs are handcrafted products so you may spot minor imperfections. We think this only adds to their character and charm.
