This light brown rug, with a very attractive surface, was made especially for us in a small town in the Middle Atlas Mountains. It’s the first rug which this weaver created for us.
The pattern of the rug is a modified diamond mesh pattern. It was knotted from thick wool yarn, and its pattern was formed by omitting the knots with a thread of the same colour. The two ends are decorated with braided fringes.
This rug benefits from a rubber or felted rug pad you can buy in most DIY stores. By putting one under it, the surface of your rug stretches out much nicer.
** All our rugs are carefully hand-knotted. Each piece is completely unique, bearing the individual self-expression of the weaver woman as well as the weaving traditions of the tribes of the Atlas Mountains. We handpick each and every piece of our collection. Please note that Berber rugs are handcrafted products so you may spot minor imperfections. We think this only adds to their character and charm.
