Berber Budapest offers a curated selection of beautiful new and vintage Moroccan wool rugs. Each rug has been hand-knotted by female Amazigh (Berber) artisans using traditional techniques.
Our rugs are unique works of art: woven into them are the personality, humour, stories and zest for life of the weavers. As a result, the rugs work really well in contemporary interiors because they add a unique character and a feeling of coziness. Each piece is very lovable and easy to connect to, as you discover all their cute little details.
We really appreciate all the work put into making each of our rugs and the weavers themselves, which is why ethical sourcing is so important to us. We work directly with the weaving communities of the Atlas Mountains and small family enterprises and have a strong personal relationship with them. We’re proud to provide a fair and regular income to our women artisan partners.

I’m Bori Körösényi and Berber Budapest is my passion project.
The idea goes back to when I started weaving a few years ago. I was looking for inspiration for one of my own projects and discovered the neon colored, abstract Azilals. I was totally amazed by these modern and extravagant rugs, and even more so when I found out that they were knotted in the isolated, tribal villages of the Atlas Mountains. I started exploring this exciting world, and the idea for the business came soon after that.
I really enjoy working closely with the Amazigh weavers, curating and handpicking beautiful rugs for our collections. I also love having long conversations with our customers about our rugs and I especially love the feeling when a favourite rug of mine finds its place in your homes.
