Square shaped rug with scattered diamonds

This is an unusually-shaped rug being almost square at 210×200 cm. Two friends crafted this piece based on an earlier carpet they wove for us. They are adorable people who are not only good friends, but often work together on wider rugs on a vertical loom set up in one of their homes.

They used cotton warps, and natural and dyed wool yarn to create this rug. The coloured yarns were made with vegetable dye, so extra care needs to be taken when wet cleaning.
