This lovely wool rug with characteristic Azilal patterns in pastel hues, has flown to us all the way from Azilal. The motifs of this rug can be traced back to female-male fertility symbolism of the antient tribal culture. In the middle, we can see a chain of three larger lozenges filled with orangey-rosey-baby blue hues. These are framed by long lines of zigzags and fishbones, and finished with a chain of smaller lozenges on both sides.
The rug has a soft wool base, adorned with dyed wool patterns. It is made on cotton warping and decorated with tassels on both ends. The pastel colour scheme can add a nice touch of warmth to your home, no matter if it finds its final home in the living room or bedroom.
** All our rugs are carefully hand-knotted. Each piece is completely unique, bearing the individual self-expression of the weaver woman as well as the weaving traditions of the tribes of the Atlas Mountains. We handpick each and every piece of our collection. Please note that Berber rugs are handcrafted products so you may spot minor imperfections. We think this only adds to their character and charm.
