A beautiful small Glaoui runner made in the Moroccan province of Ourzazate.
Glaoui is a highly complex weaving method that involves three techniques: flat-weaving, hand-knotting and embroidery. As a result, several small, knotted areas protrude from its flat-woven surface. It was woven using very thin thread and is richly patterned. We love the side fringes that poke out here and there. Its colours move along the blue-orange-burgundy axis, which is typical of the area.
Being thin, it can slide, so it is worth putting a non-slip rug pad underneath.
** All our rugs are carefully hand-knotted. Each piece is completely unique, bearing the individual self-expression of the weaver woman as well as the weaving traditions of the tribes of the Atlas Mountains. We handpick each and every piece of our collection. Please note that Berber rugs are handcrafted products so you may spot minor imperfections. We think this only adds to their character and charm.
