This contemporary Boujaad rug is coming from the Khouribga Province of Morocco. Its muted shades of blue are created using a transitional yarn dyeing technique and are complemented by a bold pink colour block ending in a pale orange stripe. It owes its appeal to these carefully chosen colours and the off-white, elongated line drawings.
The back of the rug reveals a new colour scheme as the weft between the rows of knots were weaved with different colours (these colours are peeping out at the edges of the rug).
This Berber rug is a really good choice from a maintenance point of view as it has relatively short fibers and its colours are very forgiving with accidental stains.
** All our rugs are carefully hand-knotted. Each piece is completely unique, bearing the individual self-expression of the weaver woman as well as the weaving traditions of the tribes of the Atlas Mountains. We handpick each and every piece of our collection. Please note that Berber rugs are handcrafted products so you may spot minor imperfections. We think this only adds to their character and charm.
